Chemicals in Normal Skincare Products

Aside from vegan beauty care being morally and consciously pleasing, there’s another perk you should be aware of: it’s safer.

That’s right, did you know that non-vegan, unnatural skincare products contain endless amounts of chemicals that you can find in cleaning supplies? Not to mention that these chemicals end up on and gets absorbed into your skin!

To name a few, parabens, fragrances, synthetic colors, triclosan, and sodium lauryl sulfate are chemicals commonly found in most if not all of your normal skin care products.

Doesn’t seem like a big deal? Well, what if you knew that almost all these hazardous chemicals are not even needed in the products you put on your face.

Parabens are said to help keep your products bacteria free, but they are also known for increasing breast cancer agents.

Synthetic colors and fragrances cause irritation to the skin, and for good reason, not to mention are sourced from tar and non-friendly environment sources.

As for triclosan and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), they protect mixtures and cause foamy cleansers and cleaners respectively; however, both of these are not even necessary in skincare products as their “benefits” can be replaced, not to mention they are carcinogens.

Ultimately, none of the scary chemicals above are even a necessity to beauty products, but we as a society do not question their use so they continue to be included. In addition, these side-effect riddled chemicals can all be replaced with natural, vegan alternatives, such as avocado, lavender, lemon, olive oil, essential oils, rose water and so on. It only makes sense that a product going near your eyes and on your skin should contain ingredients you commonly see and know about, not to mention ingredients you can pronounce!

It’s time to think twice about your daily routine, which is something out of the ordinary for most of us. Instead of blindly accepting what we are introduced to through endless advertisements and endorsements, we must educate ourselves.

After reading this article, it’s clear you see the blatant truth!

Imagine the things you can learn if you do some more research. Stick to wholesome, true ingredients. Not to mention, ingredients that do not have to be tested on tortured animals to ensure their “safety” on us! Chemicals are meant for the lab, not for our faces.
